WPO installs wildlife protection system

Two weeks ago, WPO installed three Bioseco Bird Protection Systems on a windfarm in the Auvergne-Rhone Alpes region in central France.

This system uses the latest optical technologies to slow down the rotational speed of the turbine rotor or stop it completely in case of confirmed bird detection. Thus limiting unnecessary stops to a minimum. With over 24 high fidelity analytical cameras covering 360° of field of view, Bioseco BPS can identify bird size and classification and effectively dismiss false positives.

WPO is proud to outfit its wind turbines with such an advanced system. Always with the same objective in mind: putting cutting edge technologies to get the most out of renewable assets while actively preserving the local wildlife.
