Bookkeeper - (Germany - Hamburg)

WPO are renewable energy experts, managing wind and solar sites across Europe on behalf of multinational investors. WPO’s clients include lenders and insurers. WPO is the market leader in France, UK, Ireland and Sweden.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our renewables team in Hamburg. You will primarily be involved in providing financial support to our solar and wind farm clients based in Germany to ensure financial transactions are recorded and processed correctly.

The role :

This role will assist with the accounting on a number of entities; providing full bookkeeping services, month end processes, managing bank accounts and preparing statutory accounts.

The person :

To apply, you must have several years’ experience as a Bookkeeper under German accounting regulations (HGB). With excellent attention to detail you will also have strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel.

Key tasks/ duties :

• All aspects of bookkeeping
• Liaising with external clients to ensure invoices are approved
• Prepare payments for authorisation and setting up bank transfers
• Preparation of bank payments and bank reconciliations
• Reconciling intercompany accounts
• Prepare, submit and make payments of USt/VAT returns
• Liaising with external parties (banks, auditors, suppliers, clients, tax advisors)
• Month end management accounts
• Produce year end statutory accounts (Jahresabschlüsse)
• Assisting with yearly budgeting

Key Requirements :

• User of SAP accounting system
• Excellent written and spoken English and German
• Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervisionly movements, statutory inspections etc.

Administrative Assistant (Spain - Madrid)

WPO in Madrid is looking for a responsible Administrative Assistant who speaks Spanish and has a correct level of English to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks for the Spanish office.

Duties include providing support to managers, employees and particularly our accounting department (download and file invoices in SAP), assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities (calls, agendas, bookings, events, etc.).
