HSE Advisor (wind/solar) in UK (Bramhall,Greater Manchester)

The role :

Reporting to the Group HSEQ Manager, the HSEQ Advisor (UK and Ireland) will assist in the continuous improvement of our HSEQ Systems whilst supporting line managers to comply with appropriate Regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Advise and promote WPO’s HSEQ systems in the UK and Ireland
• Assist in the management of WPO UK and Ireland audit protocol and conduct HSEQ audits of project sites throughout the UK and Ireland
• Control the UK and Ireland training register, ensuring that all mandatory training requirements are completed on time and records are up to date
• Assist in maintaining health, safety, environmental and quality databases (including accident/near miss register, PPE register and legal register)
• Undertake and review site Emergency Response Plans in consultation with UK and Ireland Operations teams and contractors.
• Undertake and monitor site/project emergency drills, for example emergency evacuation drills, fire drills, first aid drills, rescue and working at height drill.
• Communication of relevant safety, health, environmental and quality information to the business.
• Ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported according to WPO internal process.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers on safety, health, environmental and quality related items.
• This role will involve up to 30% travel to site/project facilities within the UK and Ireland.

Job description :

• Working with all parties to ensure that contractual obligations are fulfilled on a day-to-day basis
• Liaison with technical services teams to ascertain the cause failures, response times and works undertaken
• Keeping all appropriate records of operations and maintenance activities on site
• Compiling and verifying accurate monthly operations reports for presentation to the customer (wind farm/solar owner)
• Developing systems and procedures to ensure asset optimisation
• Liaison with & reporting to clients and asset owners.

Duties also include, but are not limited to:
• Data gathering, distribution and proactive monitoring of operating sites in conjunction with other team members
• Daily Reporting & Monitoring
• Performance, Downtime and Availability Analysis
• Prepare & issue Preliminary Reports, help train others to compile these report
• Prepare & issue Monthly Reports, help train others to compile these reports
• Follow up any performance issues
• Obtain all current service/maintenance records
• Maintain site activity records
• Monthly & annual availability performance and any subsequent claims
• Reacting to alarms from monitoring systems and reporting all concerns raised by proactive monitoring and the general operation/maintenance to both the owner and the maintainer as appropriate
• Work with site/field based staff including WPO Site Managers in the organisation of repairs/statutory inspections as appropriate
• Maintaining a calendar of servicing plans, weekly movements, statutory inspections etc.

Education and Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years HSE experience and/or Wind service technician.
• Experience in renewables would be advantageous
• A team player, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Knowledge and ability of working with Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management systems to ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & 9001 standards.
