Operational Controller


The Person

To apply, you must be IT literate and have excellent communication skills as the role is the first point of contact within WPO. Additionally, you must be interested in renewables and be keen to learn. Candidates with a knowledge of wind energy would be at a distinct advantage, however full on the job training will be provided. Finally, it is essential that applicants must be comfortable with working nights and weekends as this is part of the shift arrangement.

Key Responsibilities of the Operational Controller:

• Operation and continual development of the Operational Control Systems
• Transfer of Control of the Wind Turbine Generator Plant and/or LV Apparatus
• Ensure that only Competent Persons are approved and permitted for working on the Wind Farm
• Ensure that required H&S documentation is in place and recorded by OC for all on site work prior to commencement
• Act as Emergency contact on all Operational sites in the event of an Emergency
• Control work orders for routine and non-routine turbine work
• Assist the H&S Department to ensure that training records and medical records are up to date
• Assist the H&S Department in the organisation and compilation of site safety documentation

Skills & Experience Required:

• IT literate (confidence with basic functions in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
• Customer Service experience, ideally gained from a telephone-based role
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) - Fluent English
• Health and Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely) or experience would be advantageous
• Experience of and a willingness to work shifts / non routine hours including weekends
• Shift working, including weekends, will be involved as the cover is required 24hrs per day every day

Python Developer à Paris

Au sein du service IT, la mission principale du Développeur Python (H/F) est de développer et optimiser des outils spécifiques à notre activité et au traitement des données de nos clients. Le Développeur Python (H/F) intégrera l’équipe IT et aura pour mission principale la conception, le développement et la maintenance des solutions et outils liés aux données produites par des centaines de sites de productions d’énergies renouvelables (éoliennes et solaires) en Europe.

La mission :

• Développement d’applications web mises à disposition pour nos clients en tant qu’éditeur (environnement actuel : Python Flask / Poltly Dash / JS en évolution permanente) ;
• Tests unitaires et fonctionnels / Amélioration et maintenance de la CI/CD (sur infra AWS) ;
• Support et développement des produits internes (modules métiers Pythons, migrations d'outils internes, GED, support aux utilisateurs pour les modules développés en interne) ;
• Etablir, maintenir et améliorer les pipelines de traitement des données: participer à la définition des workflows de calcul), mettre en évidence les points forts, les points faibles et les limites de ceux-ci ;
• Mise en place de la collecte (ETL), le stockage et l’accès aux données: identifier les solutions technologiques et mettre en perspective ces solutions au regard de leurs coûts.

Le profil :

• De formation Bac +5 en école d’Ingénieur ou équivalent, le(la) candidat(e) justifie d’une expérience d’au moins 2 ans au sein d’une équipe de développement, avec une première expérience réussie dans des développement de plateformes web / mobiles
• Connaissance des langages Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL/Redshift, tests (appréciés: PHP Symfony / GO seront un plus)
• Connaissance d’une ou plusieurs plateformes Cloud / esprit Devops / Gitlab
• Bon niveau d’anglais
• Une attirance pour le milieu des énergies renouvelables et des connaissances dans les métiers de l’ingénierie serait un plus.

Operations Engineer (wind/solar) - (Greater Manchester, Bramhall)

The role :

Responsible for the technical operation and management of wind farms/solar parks in the UK and Ireland. Working in a small team of Engineers you will be responsible for a number of wind farms/solar parks ensuring that our clients achieve maximum output. Working closely with other internal departments such as Health and Safety and Site Services you will assist in carrying out technical inspections, maintain contractual relationships with various service providers and ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

The person :

To apply, you must be educated to at least degree level in a relevant Engineering or Technical area. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail as producing reports, data gathering and continuous monitoring of sites need to be accurate at all times. Ideally, you will also have relevant wind/solar industry experience however, this is not essential.

Job description :

• Working with all parties to ensure that contractual obligations are fulfilled on a day-to-day basis
• Liaison with technical services teams to ascertain the cause failures, response times and works undertaken
• Keeping all appropriate records of operations and maintenance activities on site
• Compiling and verifying accurate monthly operations reports for presentation to the customer (wind farm/solar owner)
• Developing systems and procedures to ensure asset optimisation
• Liaison with & reporting to clients and asset owners.
Duties also include, but are not limited to:
• Data gathering, distribution and proactive monitoring of operating sites in conjunction with other team members
• Daily Reporting & Monitoring
• Performance, Downtime and Availability Analysis
• Prepare & issue Preliminary Reports, help train others to compile these report
• Prepare & issue Monthly Reports, help train others to compile these reports
• Follow up any performance issues
• Obtain all current service/maintenance records
• Maintain site activity records
• Monthly & annual availability performance and any subsequent claims
• Reacting to alarms from monitoring systems and reporting all concerns raised by proactive monitoring and the general operation/maintenance to both the owner and the maintainer as appropriate
• Work with site/field based staff including WPO Site Managers in the organisation of repairs/statutory inspections as appropriate
• Maintaining a calendar of servicing plans, weekly movements, statutory inspections etc.

Personal Skills / Attributes:

You must have excellent attention to detail as producing reports, data gathering and continuous monitoring of sites need to be accurate at all times. You’ll be working in a small team within a fast paced environment, so having a good sense of humour and being able to work in an organised manner is a key requirement.

Education and Qualifications:

You must be qualified to at least Degree level in a relevant Engineering / Technical area. Travelling to sites will be a requirement of this role so you will need to hold a current, full drivers licence.

A proven record of accomplishment and experience from within the renewable industry, especially wind p ower /solar energy will be highly advantageous.
